Sweet Reckoning by Wengy Higgins

It’s time.
Evil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.
The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.
In the most sensual and fast-paced instalment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom

So as you will have read from the previous reviews I have been really enjoying this series. The characters are still extremely well written and full of well..... Character.
I enjoyed reading about the twins much more in this instalment than I have done in the previous two books and I think this is because Ginger is written as more of a person instead of just a bitch.
Kope and Z have gotten together which is both strange and sweet. I didn't find Kope quite as interesting in this book as I have in the previous books.

I do have a couple more niggles in this book compared to the previous two mostly because parts of the book just felt quite predictable. I could almost guess what was going to happen. I have also been confused as to why the Duke of Lust doesn't just find Anna to see if she is pure himself as he clearly doesn't trust Kaidan to do it. I could have lived without the adoption at the ending because that made everything end just a little bit too perfectly.

All that being said, I have really enjoyed this series and it has for sure been one of my favourite Angel book series that I have read.

I would recommend this series to anybody that has enjoyed the Mortal Instruments and maybe even Twilight.

The Darkest Star by Jennifer L. Armentrout

When seventeen-year-old Evie Dasher is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc, an unnaturally beautiful guy she initially assumes is a Luxen...but he is in fact something much more powerful. Her growing attraction for Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she'd only heard about, a world where everything she thought she knew will be turned on its head...

Lets start off with the fact that I loved this book!! I love that it carries on with the LUX series, even though I probably could have done with recapping the last couple of books. Re reading the other books in the series wasn't necessary however I do think you would have to have some knowledge of the world before delving into this book

I do want to start with the negatives though just to get them out of the way. I did not really like Evie! I found her a bit boring, I even liked her friends a lot better than I liked her.

I felt like the build up for the story was quite slow which meant that for me the story was only just getting going towards the middle of the book.

That being said I love Luc, I think his bad boy character is super cool and the kind of Instalove works in this book partly because of the story but also because of the different sides that it manages to show in Luc.

I loved how quickly I was able to get through this book because none of the story was boring. There were lots of things going on to keep me interested but I didn't find any of the sub plots too distracting.

I really enjoyed this book and I think that there are so many exciting places Armentrout could take it to in the second book.

I would recommend this book if you are in the mood for something easy and maybe a tad predictable or if you are a die hard fan of the LUX series then obviously this is for you!

Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.
When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?
Obviously if you have not read the first book then you should go and do that before you spoil yourself with this review.
The second thing to note is slightly negative. I hate this cover!!! hate it so much!. I really liked the first one but there is something about the way Anna and Kaidan are stood in this that makes me hate it.
That being said, this was a fun return on the Sweet series. We get to see Anna try to be a bad girl. Which is awkward and quite amusing. We get to see a load more of Kope which is great because I liked him in the previous book and we also get introduced to a bunch more characters.
Wendy Higgins did a great job at not falling into the second book syndrome which can leave me disappointing this book was just as exciting as the first if not more.
This book is sexy and fun with some teen drama to enjoy too!.
I loved the adventure that Anna and Kope went on and the time they got to spend together was interesting although I am not the hugest fan of a love triangle this one was not soooo bad.
I have really enjoyed reading about how the characters are each coping with the struggles of addiction and cravings for their particular specialty. I have found the whole series so far but this specific subject particularly to have been handled gently and maturely.

Another Great Job Wendy Higgins

Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy) by Wendy Higgins

Fans of Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series will be drawn to Wendy Higgins's sexy, thrilling Sweet Evil series.
What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences? This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

I read this book because Amazon told me to basically. It was recommended because i bought the Mortal instrument books a few years back. I got a brand new kindle for Christmas and thought yeah why not give it a go.
I think what Wendy Higgins has done here is very clever, Managing to make the bad guys likable is no easy task but she did it. Anna is a good girl but she learns some things about herself when she meets bad boy Kaiden. Typical boy meets girl you might think? but you would be wrong this book has tons more than that. there are angels and demons which usually i would turn away from but in this case its quite tasteful. There are spirits and even the devil!
The characters in this book are very interesting, usually there are characters that I love and characters that I hate and don't get me wrong I have my favourites but over all they are all pretty well written.
Anna is a nerdy good girl and I must admit I wasn't bothered by her for the first couple of chapters but she grew as a character when she met Kaiden. I liked reading the story from Annas POV and in general I enjoyed her story telling. Kaiden is literally the devils gift to women, He is attractive and knows how to get any women going apparently. There were other fun characters too,  i particularly enjoyed reading about Kobe.
I think saying that if you enjoyed Mortal Instruments then you will enjoy this is spot on. It has that kind of vibe to it.
I would (and have already) 100% recommend this to anyone that enjoys a paranormal romance YA.
